| Base number of a percent equation | The number that is being compared to in any percent equation. |
| Inverse variation | The relationship of two variables x and y if there is a non zero number. |
| Constant of variation | The constant variation model. |
| Rational number | A number that can be written as the quotient of two integers. |
| Rational expression | A fraction whos numerator, denominator, or both numerator and denominator are nonzero polynomials. |
| Simplified rational expression | A rational expression is simplified if its numerator and denominator have no factors in common. |
| Geometric Probability | The probability P is that an object is tossed onto Region A and lands in Region B. |
| Least common denominator | The least common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions. |
| Rational Equation | An equation that contains rational expression. |
| Rational Function | A function form f(x)=polynomial/polynomial |
| Hyperbola | The graph of a rational function. |
| Center of a hyperbola | The point (h,k) in the graph of the rational function. |
| Asymptote | A line that graph approaches. The distance between the graph and the line approaches zero. |
