| Question | Answer |

| Simulation | a way of acting out a problem situation |
| Probability | the chance that something will happen |
| Experimental Probability | when you use a simulation to find out the probability of something occuring |
| Theoretical Probability | what "should" happen or what you can reasonably expect to happen |
| Outcome | the possibile things that could happen |
| Event | the specific outcome you are lokking for |
| Ways to Show Probability | fraction, decimal, percent |
| Sample Space | everything that could possibly occur |
| Tree Diagram | will show you all the possible outcomes of an event |
| Permutation | order is important, the order in which things are listed makes a difference |
| Combination | order is not important, the order in which things are listed does not make a difference |
| Survey | asking for a response to a question, it is a way to collect information |
| Population | the "thing" or group being asked about |
| Sample | a part of the population |
| A GOOD Sample | random selection, represents population, large enough to provide accurate data |
| Independent Event | outcome of one event does not affect the outcome of another event |
| Dependent Event | outcome of one event affects the outcome of the next event |
