puny - less than normal in size and strength adj - syn: undersized; small ant: robust; sturdy - The physical therapist was the opposite of puny because he worked out every day.
ruthless - without compassion or mercy; harsh adj - syn: callous; merciless ant: merciful; compassionate; lenient - The ruthless drill sergeant made the soldiers hands bleed from climbing the rope so many times.
skirmish - a minor, short-lived battle n - syn: clash; scuffle ant: campaign; crusade - Sam broke up the skirmish before it could become a serious fight.
