What is uneven heating? sun's rays bounce of objects,some are obsorbed by earth,warm air rises becuase it is less dense,cool air sinks bc it is heavier
What is a sea breeze? Cool air from the water oves towards land
What is a land breeze? At night cool air from land blows toward sea
what is prevailing wind? global wind that alwasy blow from the same direction, cold air coming from the poles sinks and moves toward equator, then warm air from equator rises and moves towards poles
Atmosphere thick blankets of air that surrond earths layers
what are the 5 layers of the atmosphere? troposhere,stratosphere,mesosphere,thermosphere and the exosphere
Where is the ozone layer? it is located in the second layer which is the stratosphere, it is the warmest where the sunds harmful rays come from
what are instraments used to measure weather? therometer,hygrometer,barometer,anemometer, wind vane or wind sock, and rain gauge
What is an anemometer? It is used to measure wind speed
What is an air mass? is a large body of air with the same temp and humidity
What does c , m p and t stand for? Continental, maritime,polar and tropical
Whats is a cold front? It is when cold air moves under warm air
what is a warm front? when warm air pushes cold air out
What is a front? A border where 2 air masses meet
What is weather? the condition of the automosphere at a particular time
Whats is climate? Climate is weather that an area has over a long perios of time
What do red half circles mean? warm fronts
how do you represent cold fronts? with blue triangles
What are 4 types of percipitation? Rain, sleet, snow and hail
What are stratus clouds? they are gray low layered which means rain
Cirrus thin, whote and high ( have a nice day)
Cumulus puffy white (fair weather)
cumulonimbus thick, grey thunder heads
