QuestionAnswer
Exposition introduces the characters and setting
Rising Action shows how the conflict becomes more complicated
Climax the most exciting moment
falling action shows how the main character begins to resolve the conflict
resolution reveals the outcome of the conflict
plot what happens in the story
idioms expressions with special meanings
complications plot events that make resolving the conflict more difficult
setting where and when a story happens
sequence order of events
flashback a scene from the past that interrupts the order of events
suspense the nervousness and uncertainty you feel
foreshadowing hints or clues about what might happen
