Math talent

circumference the distance around a circle
Input the number on which a function machine performs one or more operations to produce an output
average the sum of two or more quantities divided by the number of quantities
trapezoid a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel.
ratio is a comparison of two numbers by divisio .
variable is a symbol, usually a letter, that stands for a number.
radius is a segment that has one endpoint at the center and the other endpoint on the circle.
fraction a number representing some part of a whole/ a quotient in the form a/b.
numerator the top number in a fraction.
denominator the bottom number in a fraction.
diameter a line segment that passes through the center of a circle and divides it in half.
area the number of square units neede to cover the surface enclosed by a geometric figure.
decimal numbers that have digits in the tenths place and beyond.
equation a mathmatical sentence that contains an equal sign.
perimeter the distance around any closed geometric figure.
percent a ratio that compares a number to 100.
proportion an equation stating two ratios or rates are equivalent.
commutative property the order in which numbers are added or multiplied does not change the sum or product
rate a ratio comparing two quantities with different kinds of units
absolute value a numbers distance from zero on the number line
central angle a central angle has one point in the center of the circle and two points on the circle.
volume the amount of space that a 3-dimensional figure contains
asssociative property the way in which numbers are grouped does not change the sum or product.
Chord a segment with endpoints that are in a circle.
arc a section of circle.
integers the whole numbers and their opposites.
input[computer] the data that is entered into a computer
storage in computing, any device in which [or on which]information can be stored
processing the manipulation of data by a microproccessor or embedded processor according to instructions given to it by a program or embedded in the chip itself.
output [computer] the computer generated information that is displayed to the user in some discernible form such as a screen display, printed page, or sound.
