Acute Angle less than a right angle

parallel lines that never intersect
perpendicular two intersecting lines that form right angles
reflection to turn a figure over--a mirror view
rotation to turn an object
translation a change in position that moves an object up, down, or sideways
associative property of addition Addends can be regrouped and the sum remains the same
associative property of multiplication factors can be regrouped and the product remains the same
computation to count or calculate using mathematics
dividend the number being divided
divisor the number that will divide the dividend
quotient the answer to a division problem
equation mathematical statement containing an equals sign, to show that two expressions are equal
equivalent having the same value or amount
expanded form a way of writing numbers that shows the place value of each digit
expression one or a group of mathematical symbols representing a number or quantity--may include numbers or variables
frequency table a table used in statistics as a method of recording data
hundredths one part of one hundred divided into 100 parts
inquality symbols symbols that show that an equation is not equal in size, value, or amount
inverse operation opposite, reverse operations
prediction to make a educated guess based on observing information
reasonable something that makes sense
rule a statement that tells you what to do or not to do
standard form writing numbers using digits
tenths one part of one ten divided into 10 parts
variable a letter or symbol representing a varying quantity,for example, n in 10 + n
