Customary Units The units of measurement most commonly used in the United States
Pound Equals to 16 ounces
Ton Equals to 2000 pounds or 32,000 ounces
Minute Equals 60 seconds
Hour Equals to 60 minutes or 3600 seconds
Day Equals 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, or 14,640 seconds
Week Equals 7 days
Year Equals 365 days, 12 months or 52 weeks
Month Equals 28 to 31 days depending on the month
Capacity The measure of how much a container can hold
Weight The measure of how heavy an object is
Elapsed Time The difference of time from the start to the end of an event
Convert To change from one unit of measure to another unit of measure. When converting from a smaller unit to a larger unit, you multiply. When converting from a larger unit to a smaller unit, you divide.
