Chapter 2 - Lynch

QuestionAnswer
Integer The numbers ...., -2, -1, 0, 1, 2 consisting of the negative integers, zero, and the positive integers.
Negative Integer The integers that are less than zero.
Positive Integer The integers that are greater than zero.
Absolute Value The distance between a number and zero on a number line.
Opposite Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line but are on opposite sides of 0.
Mean The sum of the values in a data set divided by the number of values.
Like Terms Terms that have identical variable parts raised to the same power.
Coefficient The number part of a term that included a variable.
Constant Term A term that has a number but no variable.
Quadrant One of the four regions that a coordinate plane is divided into by the x-axis and the y-axis.
