| What is a linear equation? | An algebraic equation such as (y=2x+7) in which the highest degree term in the variable or variables is of the first degree. |
| How do you determine whether an ordered pair is a solution to a set of equations? | By substituting the x value in for x and the y value in for y into both equations. If the ordered pair makes all equations true, it is the solution. |
| What is the slope-intercept form? | y=mx+b |
| What type of slope do parallel lines have? | The same slope. |

| What are the steps for the substitution method? | 1. choose one equation to solve for x or y. ( first equation). 2. Substitute the solution for step 1 into the second equation and solve. 3. Use the value found in step 2, and substitute it into the first equation and solve. 4. Check you answer! |
