clairvoyant adjective having or claiming to have power of seeing objects or actions beyond the range of natural vision Fortune tellers claim themselves to be clairvoyant about the future.
inadvertently adverb not attentive; heedless During a soccer game I inadvertently turned to get hit with a soccer ball.
nostalgia noun a bittersweet longing for things, people or situations of the past. As people look back into their past, many are filled with nostalgia as memories are being revisisted.
frigid adjective very cold in temperature When it's below 20 degrees in the winter time, the air is very frigid if you were outside.
laden verb to put (something) on ir in, as a burden, load or cargo; load. As Christmas and the holidays come around, people are laden by bags from shopping.
shoals noun a large group; a crowd. As you visit the major cities such as Los Angeles or New York City, the street shoals can be overwhelming.
furtive adjective expressive of hidden motives or purposes. When people find something out that they're not suppose to know about, he or she acts furtive to not expose the secret.
bereft adjective to leave desolate or alone;especially by death. When people are confronted with issues of death, they are often bereft first with shock.
rivet noun to engross or hold. Although I might not listen in class, I try to rivet my attention.
liturgical adjective of or prertaining to formal public worship or liturgies. A church liturgical forms all around you.
mired noun a disadvantageous or difficult condition or situation. The mire of achieving your bachelor's degree will be quite a journey.
intransigent adjective refusing to agree or compromise, uncompromising, inflexible. Those with intransigent behavior are difficult people to deal with when you want to change their minds.
alleviated adjective to make (pain, for example) more bearable. I was alleviated of my worries once my loans were paid off.
convoluted adjective complicated; intricately involved. Some people make things more convoluted than they need it is.
satiate verb to supply with anything to excess, as to disgust or wearyl surfeit. Daily routines satiate many to changing their habits.
affable adjective pleasantly easy to approach and talk to; friendly; cordial; warmly polite. People that are affable tend to be more sociable.
impervious adjective incapable of being influential, persauded, or affected. Impervious people are often stubborn when it comes to changing their minds.
insidious adjective stealthily treacherous or deceitful. A insidious snake went passed unnoticed.
chenille noun a soft tufted cord of silk, cotton, or worsted used in embroidery or for fringing. A chenille robe was thrown carelessly unto the bed.
masochistically adverb in a masochistic manner; a willingness or tendency to subject oneself to unpleasant or try experiences. Although I dislike heavy lifting, I masochistically offered my time.
catalyst noun a person whose talk, entyhusiam or energy causes others to be more friendly, enthusiastica, or energetic. Many tend to be catalyst when they are around their friends.
charred verb a combustibled residue remaining after the destructive distillation of coal. After lighting a candle and blowing it out, only the black, charred residue was left.
transvestite noun a person who dresses and acts in a style or manner traditionally associated with the opposite sex. Drag queens are considered transvestite by the way they act and dress.
androgynous adjective being both male and female; hermaphroditic. A girl who is a tomboy has androgynous characteristics.
kerosene noun/adjective a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons obtained by distilling petroleum, bituminous shale, or the like, and widely used as a fuel, cleaning solvent, etc. While camping outside in the middle of winter, a kerosene lamp was used to keep a person's hands warm.
