Combustion Reaction A chemical reaction in which a substance reacts rapidly with oxygen.
Chemical Equation A representation of a chemical reaction in which the reactants and productsare expressed as formulas
Coeffients Numbers that appear before a formula in a chemical equation to show the relative proportions of each reactant and product
Decomposition Reaction A chemical reaction in which a compound breaks down into two or more simpler substances
Double Replacement Reaction A chemical reaction in which two compounds exchange posative ions and form two new compounds
Endothermic Reaction A chemical reaction that absorbs energy from its surroundings
Exothermic Reaction A chemical reaction that releases energy to its surrondings
Oxidation Redution A chemical Reaction in which electrons are transford from one reactant to another
Polyatomic Ion A covalently bonded group of atoms that has a posative or negative and acts as a unit
Products New substances formed as a result of position or shape.
Reactants A substance that undergoes change in a chemical reaction
Single Replacement A chemical reaction in which one element takes the place of another element in a compound
Synthesis Reaction A chemical in which two or more substances react to form a single substance
