| What are some of the criticisms of presidential primaries? | 1. The image of the candidate is more important than the issues. 2. Primaries extend to long, one in February and one in June. Voters tend to lose interest and it is costly. |
| Why is proportional representation in presidential primaries is more democratic than winner-take all? | In winner-take all, one one candidates gets all the votes. The proportional representation give both candidates an equal opportunity of receiving percentage of votes based on the number of votes they get. |
| How can people who have not been selected by their party can still become candidates for public office? | People can file petition by having collectin signatures from voters. |
| How might politics, democracy, and government in the United States be affected if there were no primary elections? | If there were no primary elections, voters would not get a chance to learn some things about a candidate. |
| Which do you feel is a better method of choosing candicates, open primary or close primary? | Open primary is better because all voters have a chance to vote whereas in a closed primary only members of a partcular party can vote. |
| What is the purpose of a political party? | Their purpose is to win elections and gain control of government at local, state and national levels. |
