worddefinition
property a property of a mathematical system is a fact that is true concerning that system
axiom an axiom is a property that forms the basis of a mathematical system. It is assumed to be true without proof.
the distributive axiom multiplication distributes over addition. (example) 3(2+1)=6+3
Multiplication distributes over subtraction Multiplication distributes over subtraction (example) 3(2-1)=6-3
distributing multiplication or division distribute over addition or subtraction of two or more terms from the left or from the right.
like terms 2 numbers in a term that has the same variable or same power
numeral coefficent a numeral coefficent of a term in the constant that is multiplied by the variables. (5x - 2x)
common factor In an expression, c is a common factor of ecah term in that expression
