First Quarter Review

Review of first quarter vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
least common multiple The smallest multiple shared by 2 or more numbers.
greatest common factor The largest factor shared by 2 or more numbers.
ratio A comparison of two quantities.
even A number that is divisible by 2. The ones digit is either a 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
odd A number that is not divisible by 2. The ones digit is either a 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.
prime number A number that has 2 factors: 1 and itself.
composite number A number that has more than 2 factors.
numerator The top number of a fraction.
denominator The bottom number of a fraction.
reciprocal A fraction where the numerator and denominator have been interchanged.
mixed number A combination of a whole number and a fraction.
percent An amount out of 100.
