WordDefinition
Electromagnetic Spectrum Includes all forms of electromagnetic radiation with differing wavelengths and frequencies.
Planck's Constant Has a value of 6.626 x 10 -34 J s, where J is a symbol for joule ans s is seconds.
Photoelectric Effect Phenomenon in which photoelectrons are emitted from a metal's surface when light of a certain frequency shines on the surface.
Continuous Spectrum Shine with a connected series of colors, each with unique wavelengths and frequencies.
Atomic Emission Spectrum Set of frequencies of light emitted by the atoms of a specific element.
Heisenburg Uncertainty Principle States that it fundamentally impossible to know precisely both the velocity and position of a particle at the same time.
Electron Configuration Arrangement of electrons in an atom.
Aufbau Principle States that each electron occupies the lowest energy orbital available.
Pauli Exclusion Principle State that a maximum of two electrons, with opposite spins, may occupy a single atomic orbital.
Hund's Rule Single electrons with the same spin must occupy each equal energy orbital before additional electrons are added.
