| Inference. | Educated guess. |
| Irony. | When the unexpected happens. |
| Situational Irony. | When something ironic happens because of the situation. (ex. all homecoming dresses are the same.) |
| Exposition. | Explains setting, characters, and whats going on. |
| Rising Action. | Events leading to the climax. |
| Falling Action. | Events that wrap up the story. |
| Resolution. | End. |
| Tone. | Mood or feeling of the story. |
| Synonym. | Words that mean the same thing. |
| Antonym. | Words that mean the opposite of each other. |
| Summarize. | To shorten and put in your own words. |
| Non-Fiction. | Facts and "True/Non-Real" writing. |

| Paraphrase. | Told in your own words. |
| Plot. | Events that make up a story. |
| Critical Reading. | Pay attention, ask questions, understand topic, know 6 parts of plot, take notes, ask questions. |
