Evidence

Evidence Classification

QuestionAnswer
Direct Evidence with a time-stamp: confession, video, eye-witness
Circumstantial Evidence with NO time-stamp (anything that is not Direct)
Individual Evidence that leads you to one specific person: ONLY FINGERPRINTS AND DNA
Class Evidence that leads you to a GROUP of people (hair would give you a group of people with that hair color/texture) OR (shoeprint would give you a group of people that have that shoe/size)
Biological Evidence that came from a living thing (skin cells, blood, hair, fingernails, pollen)
Physical Evidence that is tangible (can touch it, pick it up)
Trace Evidence that is TINY (fingerprint, piece of hair, thread from a sweater, skin cells, DNA)
