What is Culture? A shared, learned costume that is used by a specific group to grow a sense of community.
What is a Cultural animal? Chimps and Apes - like how the chimps pick the bugs out of each others hair.
Characteristics of Shamanism Natural problems, what's in front of you, altered states of consciousness.
Idealist POV A person who focuses on ideas (Whats in their head)
Materialist POV Ideas that come from the environment/things around you
Agnosticism the claim that it is impossible to know whether a god exists or not.
Why do humans need culture? Sense of self and community. Gives and sense of guidance and tradition.
Where was many civilizations made? Fertile Crescent - On rivers and other bodies of water
Nature Something that you are born with
Nurture Something you are taught
Atheism The belief that there is no god
Theism belief that there a god
Example of complex Institutions Government systems, rules and laws, ecomonics
Example of Advanced Technology Wheels, bridges, computers
Example of record keeping keeping records
Examples of Calender Months, days, years, weeks, weather, rituals
