08 Q and A for Labor, Slavery, and Caste in Spanish America

What was the encomienda system subjected to the Natives? A labor system where Native Americans would be forced into labor to work on to cultivate cash crops.
How were conquistadores during their takeover? They were ignorant or dismissive of the cultural differences.
Wha t other area would the Spanish go to and exploit for what material. They would continue their expansion into more indigenous territory as well as the Caribbean. Materials like sugarcane, silver and gold were primary resources wanted by the Spanish.
The Spanish would conduct and organize themselves in a caste system, how did it work? It was based on race, determining a person's status. Spaniards hailing from Europe were at the top, while those at lower statuses like those with Native American/ African and Spanish heritage had the lowest rights and accesses.
