| Evaporation | When liquid water changes into water vapor (gas). |
| Transpiration | The process of plants releasing water vapor into the atmosphere through their leaves. |
| Condensation | When water vapor (gas) cools and changes into liquid water. Example: Clouds forming. |
| Precipitation | Water that falls from clouds to Earth's surface as rain, snow, sleet, or hail. |
| Deposition | When a gas changes directly into a solid without becoming a liquid. Example: Frost forming. |

| Infiltration | The process of water soaking into the ground through soil and rock. |
| Glacier | A large, thick mass of ice formed from compressed snow that moves slowly over land due to gravity. |
