| Migration | the movement of people, animals, or systems from one place to another, whether temporarily, seasonally, or permanently |
| Adaptation | a heritable physical, behavioral, or functional trait that helps an organism survive and reproduce in its environment |
| Habitat | the natural environment or place where a plant, animal, or other organism normally lives, grows, and reproduces |
| Natural selection | a core evolutionary mechanism where organisms best adapted to their environment are more likely to survive, reproduce, and pass on their beneficial traits to future generations |
| Hypothesis | a proposed, testable, and falsifiable explanation or prediction for an observation, phenomenon, or research question |
| Variation | a change, difference, or deviation in amount, quality, level, or form from a standard, norm, or original theme |
| Species | the basic unit of biological classification and a fundamental rank in taxonomy that groups living organisms—such as animals, plants, and fungi—that share common characteristics and can naturally breed to produce fertile offspring |
| Evolve | to develop or change gradually over time, often into a more complex, mature, or advanced state |
| Population | the total number of people, animals, or living organisms inhabiting a specific geographic area or region at a given time |
| Predator | an animal that naturally hunts, kills, and eats other animals for food |
| Prey | An animal that is being hunted. |
| Environment | the set of surrounding conditions, physical factors, or influences in which a person, animal, plant, or computer system exists and operates |
| Evolution | a gradual process of change and development over time, |
| Decomposers | living organisms that break down dead plants, animals, and waste materials into simple nutrients |
| Extinction | the disappearance of a species |
| Climate | The usual pattern of weather in a place over a long period of time. |
| Hibernate | The mamalas go up for winter |
| Biomes | a large, distinct geographical region defined by its specific climate, soil, vegetation, and animal life |
| Fitiness(in natural selection) | an organism's relative ability to survive, reproduce, and pass its genetic traits on to the next generation |
