| Habitat | the natural environment or physical area where a particular plant, animal, or other organism lives and finds the food, water, shelter, and space it needs to survive and reproduce |
| Natural Selection | the process where organisms with heritable traits better suited to their environment survive longer and reproduce more, |
| Hypothesis | is a proposed, testable explanation for a phenomenon, observation, or research question that has not yet been proven. |
| Variation | any change, difference, or deviation in condition, amount, level, form, or standard from a norm |
| Species | the basic unit of biological classification and taxonomic rank that sits immediately below a genus |
| Evolve | means to develop, change, or grow gradually over time, often moving from a simpler state to a more complex, advanced, or better-adapted form. |
| Population | the total number of people, animals, or living organisms inhabiting a specific geographic area or region at a given time |
| Predator | is an organism that naturally hunts, kills, and consumes other organisms (its prey) for food. |
