| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Water Cycle | The Movement of water between the atmosphere, land, oceans, and even living things. |
| Evaporation | Is the state in which water changes from liquid to gas. |
| Transpiration | The release of water vapor into the air by plants. |
| Sublimitation | When solid water changes directly to water vapor without first becoming a liquid. |
| Condensation | Is the change of state from a gas to a liquid. |
| Participation | Any form of water that falls to earth from clouds. |
| Humidity | The amount of water vapor in the air. |
| Relative Humidity | The amount of water vapor in the air compared to the amount of water vapor needed to reach saturation. |
| Dew Point | The temperature at which more condensation than evaporation occurs. |
| Air Pressure | The force of air molecules pushing on an area |
| Wind | The air that moves horizontally, or parallel to the ground. |
| Visibility | The measure of the transparency of the atmosphere. |
| Air Mass | The large volume of air in which temperature and moisture content are nearly the same throughout. |
| Front | The boundary or transition separating two distinct air masses or differing densities. |
| Jet stream | Long-distance winds that travel above global winds for thousands of kilometers. |
| Thunderstorm | A(n) intense local storm that forms strong winds, heavy rain, thunder, and sometimes hail. |
| Lightning | An electric discharge that happens between a positively charged area and a negatively charged area. |
| Hurricane | A tropical low-pressure system with winds blowing at the speeds of 119km/h (74 mi/h) or more-- strong enough to uproot trees. |
| Storm Surge | When a hurricane moves into a coastal area, it also pushes a huge mass of ocean water. |
| Sinkhole | Holes in the ground that form when a cave collapses. |
| Wildfire | Uncontrollable burning fires in natural areas |
| Muck Fire | Muck is dried grass leaves and dead things that can easily be ignited by lightning |
| Climate | Conditions in an area over a long period of time |
| Latitude | The angular distance in degrees north and south from the equator. |
| Topography | The surface's features of an area. |
| Elevation | The height of an area above sea level. |
| Surface events | Surface events are driven by winds and carry warm water away from the equator and carry cool water away from the poles. |
| Weather | The condition of Earth's atmosphere at a particular time and place. |
| Thunder | The sound caused by the rapid expansion of air along an electrical strike. |
| Tornado | A rapidly spinning column of air that high-winds touch the ground. |
