OHV Camshaft positioned low in the cylinder block, long pushrod leading up to a rocker arm
DOHC Twin overhead camshafts mounted in the head with angled valves and central spark plug tube
SOHC Single camshaft positioned centrally in the cylinder head acting on rocker arms for intake and exhaust valves
SOHC Direct Drive Single overhead cam acting directly on bucket tappets directly above in-line vertical valves
OHV Pushrod V-Engine Style Single central block camshaft operating angled pushrods
DOHC Multi-Valve Dual overhead camshafts with timing belt/chain drive operating 4 valves per cylinder
