| foothill | a low hill at the base of a mountain |
| gulf | a large area of ocean partly surrounded by land |
| hill | a small, raised part of land lower than a mountain |
| misa | a flat topped hill with steep sides |
| mountain range | a group or chain of mountains |
| peak | the pointed top of a mountain |
| peninsula | land surrounded by water on three sides |
| plain | a large area of flat or gently rolling land |
| plateau | an area of high, flat land |
| strait | a narrow water passage between two larger bodies of water |
| valley | low land between mountains or hills |
| volcano | a hill or mountain formed by molten rock forced through the earth's surface |
