Ideologi Idéer om hur man vill att samhället ska styras.
Liberalism Människans frihet är viktig. Viktigt att människor skulle få tänka annorlunda än staten och kyrkan.
Konservatism Förändringar i samhället skulle inte gå för fort. Viktigt att traditioner bevaras, vara rädd om monarkin, kyrkan, familjen och den privata egendomen.
Socialism jämlikhet mellan människor kan uppnås med en stark stat. De ekonomiska klyftorna mellan människor skulle minska. Staten ska äga skolor, sjukvård t.ex.
