Direction Prepositions
| Prepositions | Meaning |

| Across | movement from one side of something to the other, on a surface |
| Against | movement into contact with something, pressing on it |
| Along | movement following a line or path from one end to the other |
| Around | movement in a circle or in different directions near something |
| Away from | movement leaving or moving further from something |
| Down | movement from a higher position to a lower position |
| From | showing the starting point or origin of movement |
| Into | movement to the inside of something |
| Off (+of) | movement away from a surface, leaving it |
| Onto | movement to a position on a surface |
| Out (+of) | movement from the inside to the outside |
| Over | movement above and across something |
| Through | movement from one side to the other, passing inside something |
| To | showing direction towards a place or person |
| Towards (Uk) / Toward (Us) | movement in the direction of something |
| Under | movement below something |
| Up | movement from a lower position to a higher position |
