Who were the Mongols in 1200 CE? An alliance of nomadic people from the steppes of Eurasia.
What makes the Mongols important to start with? 1. Through the conflict they caused, they united lots of trade routes from other societies. 2. They created a model for land-based empires.
In the 1200s how was the world not yet global? Much of the world was divided, often overlapping zones.
How would goods be transported around this period.
