QuestionAnswer
What is a product? A product is the answer to a multiplication problem.
What is a quotient? A quotient is the answer to a division problem.
What is a sum? A sum is the answer to an addition problem.
When does it mean to double a number? It means that you multiply it by 2.
When does it mean to triple a number? It means that you multiply it by 3.
What does it mean when a number is half of another number? It means it is divided by 2.
What does it mean when a number is a third of another number? It means it is divided by 3.
What terms indicate that subtraction should occur in a problem? Difference, minus, decreased by, fewer than, and less than
What terms indicate that addition should occur in a problem? Sum, plus, total, more than, and increased by
What terms indicate that multiplication should occur in a problem? product, times, by, double, and triple
What terms indicate that division should occur in a problem? quotient, divide, goes into, half of, and third of
