WORD MAP VOCAB

TermDefinition
Close button The x in the top – right corner—click it to close Word. Be careful not to click it by accident!
Focus mode button A button that hides extra toolbars so you can just focus on writing, without distractions.
Insertion point The blinking line where text appears when you type. Also called the cursor
QUICK ACCSESS TOOL BAR A tiny toolbar in the corner with shortcuts to common tools like Save and Undo – it’s always there!
Ribbon The big toolbar at the top that has buttons like (Bold, Italic, Insert Picture). It’s where you find all the tools
Ribbon display options a button that lets you shoe or hide the ribbon to make more room on your screen
Ruler shows measurements so you can line things up nicely
Status bar the bar at the bottom that shows word count page number spelling errors
Title bar The area at the very top of the word window shows the name of the doc. It also contains buttons such as minimize maximize and close
Vertical scroll bar the bar on the right side that lets you scroll up and down.
View buttons buttons that let you change how your doc looks on screen
Zoom slider a slider at the bottom right thar let you zoom in or out to make the page bigger or smaller.
RIBBON TABS the names at the top of the ribbon like home insert design. Clicking one shows different tools

Voices

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.
