Superior/ Inferior - Towards the head, in a cephalic (Head) direction - Away from head
Proximal/Distal -Closer to the attachment of the trunk (torso) -Farther away from the trunk
peripheral/central -Located on outer part of surface of the body - situated at, in, or near the center (nervous system)
Superficial/deep - Towards or on the surface of the body -away from the surface of the body
ipsilateral/contralateral -located on the same side of the body -located on the opposite of the body
Patietal/ visceral - pertaining to or forming the outer wall of a body cavity - pertaining to the organs, or to the covering of an organ
Medial/ lateral - towards the middle of the body -away from the middle of the body
Anterior (ventral) Posterior (dorsal) -towards front of body -towards the back
