Who Aleander the Greats father? Phillip II of Macedon
How long was Alexnder the Greats rule? How much did he conquer? Ruled for 12 years that spanned from the Mediterranean to India
What was the lasting effect of Alexander's rule? He influenced Greek culture to spread around all over the world and to be adopted.
What was the reason for his downfall? His continuous success' is what his empire relied on, which would crumble if he were to fail.
How did he defeat the Persians? Alexander would use the Persians interconnected road to supply and communicate with his soldiers.
Explain how Alexander kept other empires loyal to him. He would marry Persian women as well as adopt Perian traditions. He would allow for many cultures to be practiced and sponsor many temples from them.
What is Alexandria? Alexandria was the biggest trading center in the empire, this connected many routes from both West and East, allowing for trade to be easier.
Explain how Alexanders lavish spending effect the economy. His immense spending would give even more money to rich elites and stimulate his economy further.
During the Hellenistic period, how were women treated? Women were given more power and wealth, though limited in marriage.
How did women participate in the government during the Hellenistic period? They were able to be officials in office; the wealth they gained was able to fund public works.
How were non-Greek women during this time? Less restricted city-states allowed for them to have more freedom. Contracts and business negotiations were available, but not equally throughout.
What made Alexander the Great's conquest end? His soldiers saw no reason to fight anymore after India was conquered, so they refused to go any further than he.
What were the immediate effects of Alexander the Great's death? Government officials started to fight over the empire; his influence proceeded his death as many of his generals would rule other parts of his former empire.
