The scientific method is a hallmark of how science works. This method works in a very systematic way and Starts with an observation either I nature or generated by reading primary literature
Primary literature is the best source for experimental ideas and knowledge about the field. Primary literature is Manuscripts written by scientists that perform the experiments and have been peer reviewed
A gap in knowledge is an area of unknown information within the field of science. Gaps in knowledge are important because They can help inform the development of research projects by highlighting areas where research s needed
A scientific hypothesis is A statement that is accepted to be true until experiments are run that prove the statement false
It is necessary to read primary scientific literature when designing projects because This literature helps with finding a gap in knowledge
These two fundamental aspects of the scientific method allows scientists to produce solid evidence about how the natural world works Data and experiments are constantly being retested and the methods are common across disciplines and labs
The three types of variables that are important to understand when designing an experiment are Control, independent, dependent
A scientific hypothesis is actually constructed of two different hypotheses alternative and null. The difference between these two types of hypotheses are A null hypothesis assumes no relationship between the independent and dependent variables and the alternative assumes a relationship between these two variables
The only difference between the control and experimental conditions during experimental set up should be Independent variables
