| Term | Definition |

| Epistrophe | Repetition of the same expression at the end of the two or more lines, clauses or sentences. Ex: of the people for the people by the people |
| Memory | Mastering and remembering the content of a speech so it can be presented effectively. EX: I can remember all the vocab words. |
| Deductive reasoning | Reasoning that moves from a general principle or premise to a specific conclusion |
| Invention | Generating and discovering the ideas, arguments, evidence, and appeals to use |
| Style (canon of rhetoric) | Choosing language, dictation, tone, Syntax, and figures of a speech to express ideas effectively. Ex: her style of writing is slow paced |
| Charicature | An exaggerated portrayal of a person that emphasizes distinctive traits, often for comic or satirical effect. EX: the Joker is portrayed as a crazy wild character. |
| Imagery | The use of language to evoke a picture or a concrete sensation of a person, place, thing or experience. EX: I was walking down the street with my dog. |
| Delivery | Presenting a speech effectively through voice, gesture, expression, and physical presence. Ex: she said her speech in a wild and cheerful way. |
| anadiplosis | Repetition of the last word or phrase of one clause at the beginning of the next. EX: fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, Hate leads to suffering. |
| Arrangement | Organizing the parts of an argument or speech for maximum effectiveness. EX: introduction, paragraphs, conclusion. |
