Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Location Where exactly something is on a map or a globe.
Place Characteristics that make somewhere unique or special (Climate, landmarks, etc).
Region Areas that share common traits (Language, landmarks, etc).
Movement How people, goods, and ideas move around the world.
HEI How people change or adapt to the world around them.
Absolute Location Exact using address or coordinates.
Relative Location Describing where something is compared to somewhere else.
Coordinates Exact location on Earth latitude and longitude.
Latitude Imaginary lines going horizontal.
Longitude Imaginary lines going vertical.
Import Bringing good into a place.
Export Sending goods out of a place.
5 Themes HEI, location, place, region, movement.
Cardinal Directions North, East, South, West.
Intermediate Directions Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, Southwest.
