What ships were they known to use? Boats made for long distances that cut through the water easily
What was the dominant class in for the Phoenicians? What did they want? The merchant was dominant in foreign policy and wanted to maintain sea lanes and access to new raw materials.
How was trade the center of the Phoenician community? Merchant families and merchants alike decided on the affairs of the city-states. Creating an upper class that anybody could join
Describe Phoenician social life They were able to marry foreigners, more freedom for women, having a seat at the table.
What did other Phoenicians go looking for? Land, resources, trading partners.
Biggest city the Phoenicians had? Carthage, housed half a million people
Describe the Phoenician Script Script that included 22 characters that were to make out sounds and was improved by the Greeks, implementing vowels.
