How do you remember the order of the planets? We can remember the order by using this sentence: My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nachos (Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune)
Which four inner planets are closest to the sun? Inner Planets are the 4 planets closes to the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
Are the Inner Planets terrestrial? The Inner Planets are terrestrial, like Earth.
What is Mars also known as? Mars is also known as the Red Planet.
Which 4 planets are the outer planets? Outer planets are the 4 planets furthest from the sun (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune).
What are the outer planets made of? The Outer Planets are made of gas (sometimes called gas giants) and all have ring systems.
What is the largest planet? Jupiter is our largest planet and it has a big red spot on it which is actually a storm.
Where is the asteroid belt located? The asteroid belt separates the inner planets from the outer planets.
Where is the sun located? The sun is located at the center of our solar system.
Which galaxy do we live in? We live in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Does our solar system have dwarf planets? Our solar system has dwarf planets, such as Pluto.
Why does the sun look like the largest star? The sun looks like the largest star in our sky because it is the star closest to Earth.
Do all of our planets orbit the sun? All 8 of the planets, plus the dwarf planets, orbit around the sun.
How are we able to learn so much about space? Technology continues to change, allowing us to learn more about space.
