What cell division thingo splits twice and creates four cells at a time? Meiosis!
Which bases pair together? C-G and A-T
Which cell division does not create genetic diversity? Why not? Mitosis does not create genetic diversity, because it doesn't implement crossing over like meiosis. it wants exact copies for repair
What was Mendel all about? HIS PEAS!!! He bred his peas together to get all different shapes, colours, sizes, etc.
What is Hemophelia? Hemophilia is a sex linked disease that causes platelets to not clot good. its on the X chromosomes so males are more likely to have it.
Karyotyping? what is? (Yoda?) Karyotyping is a lab test to see the number, size, and shape of someone's chromosomes.
how many chromosomes in every cell? 46 chromosomes, 23 pairs
What is nucleotide? nucleotide is made up of one base and a string of sugar phosphate backbone. Nucleotides join together (base+base) to make DNA.
what is genotype? DNA sequence in a chromosome. determines stuff.
what is an allele? an allele is an alternative form of a gene. there are two for each gene
what is phenotype and trait? trait is category like 'hair colour' and phenotype is what is presented 'blond'. phenotype is determined by genotype.
what is CRISPR? Technology scientists use to alter DNA, removing, adding or altering strands of DNA.
