Social Studies

Social Studies The study of how people live, work and interact together in communities around the world.
History The study of past events, people and decisions that shaped our world.
Culture The way of life shared by a group of people including language, beliefs, food, art, traditions and music.
Geography The study of Earths physical features (landforms, water, climate) and how humans interact with their environment.
Government The studies of people, rules, and laws the that guide protect a community, state or nation.
Economics The study of how people make, buy, sell and use goods services to fulfill needs and wants.
Society A group of people living together in an organized community with shared laws, traditions and values.
Citizens Official members of a country or community who have rights (like voting) and responsibilities (like obeying the laws)
Timeline A visual tool that shows a sequence of historical events in chronological order
Cause and Effect A relationship where one event (cause) makes another event happen (effect)
