Social Studies

TermDefinition
Social Studies The study of how people live, work and interact together in a communities and around the world.
History The study of past events, people and decisions that shaped our world.
Culture The way of of life shared by a group of people, including language, beliefs ,food ,art ,traditions and music
Geography The study of Earths physical features (landforms, water, climate ) and how humans interact with there environment.
Government The system of people, rules, and laws that guide and protect a community, state, or nation.
Economics The study of how people make, buy, sell and use goods and services to fulfill needs and wants.
Society A group of people living together in a organized community with shared laws, traditions, and values.
Citizens Official members of a country or community who have rights ( like voting )and responsibilities ( like obeying laws ).
Timeline A visual tool that shows a sequence of historical events in chronological order.
Cause and Effect A relationship where one event ( cause ) makes another event happen ( effect ) .
