social studies

social studies the study of how people live, work, and interact together in communities and around the world.
history the study of past events, people, and decisions that shaped our world.
culture the way of life shared by a group of people, including language beliefs, food, art, traditions, and musics.
geography the study of earths physical features (landforms, water, climate) and how humans interact with their environment
government the system of people, rules, and laws that guide and protect a community, state, or nation.
economics the study of how people make, buy, sell, and use goods and services to fulfill needs and wants.
society a group of people living together in an organized community with shared laws, traditions, and values.
citizens official members of a country or community who have rights (like voting) and responsibilities (like obeying laws)
timeline a visual tool that shows a sequence of historical events in chronological order.
cause and effect a relationship where one event (cause) makes another event happen (effect)
