Prefixes for Negating & Numbering

A- or an- not or without (classic negative prefix)
Anti- or contra- against
De- down or without
Dis- absence or removal of something
In- or Im- both mean not but can also mean into
Primi- first
Mono- or uni- refers to one of something
Bi- or di- two or twice
Tri- three
Diplo- used to describe double of something
Tetra- or quardr- both are used to describe four of something
Semi- or hemi- both can mean half but are slightly different from one another
Hemi- refers to one side of something (southern HEMIsphere)
Semi- somewhat different because it can also mean partial (SEMIconscious)
Multi- many
Poly- also means many but could mean much in situations (POLYgon)
