| Constant | A number |
| Variable | A letter that represents an unknown quantity. |
| Term | A constant, variable, or product/quotient of a number and a variable. Separated by +, -, and = Ex: 4, y, 4y, x/4 |
| Coefficient | The number infront of a variable that is multiplied by the varible. EX 4x |
| Expression | A group of terms combined by operations like addition or subtraction, but without an equals sign. |
| Equation | A math statement showing that two expressions are equal, marked by an equals sign (=). |
| Operations | +, -, ×, or ÷. |
| Like Terms | Terms with identical variables raised to the exact same powers. |
| Simplify | The process of condensing an expression by combining all like terms and removing parenthesis by distributing. |
| Combine | To add or subtract. |
| Evaluate | Finding the final numerical value of an expression by plugging in numbers for variables. |
| Solve | Isolate the variable. |
| Isolate the variable | Get variable alone on one side of the = sign. |
| Factor | A number or expression multiplied by another to get a product. |
| Sum | Answer to an addition problem. |
| Difference | Answer to a subtraction problem. |
| Product | Answer to a multiplication problem. |
| Quotient | Answer to a division problem. |
| Inequality | A math sentence comparing two values using symbols like <, >, ≤, or ≥. |
| Base | The main number or variable that is multiplied by an exponent, Base |
| Exponent | The small, raised number showing how many times a base multiplies by itself |
