How long does it take for the earth to rotate on its axis? It takes 24 hours for the earth to rotate on its axis.
How long does it take for the earth to orbit the sun? It takes 365 days for the earth to orbit the sun.
When is it day on earth? When earth faces the sun, it is day.
When is it night on earth? When earth faces away from the sun it is night.
What does earths tilt do? Earth's tilt causes some locations on the planet to experience more direct sunlight.
Why do some places on earth have such a hot summer? The northern hemisphere tilts toward the sun in June, July, and August which causes us to experience a hot summer.
Why is the earths tilt so important? If the earth did not sit on its tilt, we would not experience seasons.
Why do we see different moon phases? The moon orbits around the Earth causing us to see different moon phases.
What do we call it when the earth orbits the sun? When the Earth orbits around the sun we call it a revolution.
