Allergic contact dermatitis an immune system reaction that causes an itchy, red skin rash when your skin touches a specific substance or allergen
anaphylaxis a severe, rapid, and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction that affects multiple organ systems in the body
cardiopulmonary resuscitation an emergency procedure combining chest compressions and rescue breaths to keep oxygen-rich blood flowing to the brain and vital organs during cardiac arrest
chemical hygiene plan Describes all safety procedures, special precautions, and emergency procedures used.
department of transportation label Displays the type of hazard, the United Nations hazard class number, and an identifying number.
Globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of chemicals an international standard created by the United Nations to ensure consistent hazard communication and safety information worldwide.
irriatnt contact dermatitis a non-allergic skin reaction that occurs when a substance damages your skin's outer protective layer
latex sensitivity an immune system reaction or skin irritation caused by touching or breathing in products made from natural rubber latex
National fire protection association label Warns the location of hazardous materials in the event of a fire.
Occupational safety and health administration Is the governmental agency responsible for workplace safety
Radioactive hazard symbol a black or magenta trefoil (three-bladed propeller shape) on a bright yellow background
safety data sheet a standardized document that lists the hazards, properties, and safe handling procedures for a chemical product.
sharps medical devices or objects with sharp points or edges that can puncture, cut, or lacerate the skin
