| Term | Definition |

| Export | goods or services manufactured in one country and sent to another to be sold to purchasers |
| peninsula | a piece of land that is almost entirely surrounded by water but is connected to the mainland on one side |
| sustainable | doing little or no harm to the environment. |
| biodiversity | the variety of all living things on Earth, and how they fit together |
| ecosystem | a geographic area where plants, animals and other organisms, as well as weather and landscape, work together to form a bubble of life |
| rainforest | forests characterized by a closed and continuous tree canopy, moisture-dependent vegetation, the presence of epiphytes and lianas and the absence of wildfire |
| grassland | an area (or ecosystem) where the vegetation is dominated by grasses |
| tundra | the areas where the subsoil is permafrost, or permanently frozen soil |
| taiga | The taiga, or boreal forest, is the world's largest land biome |
| desert | an area of land that receives no more than 25 centimeters (10 inches) of precipitation a year |
| multiculturalism | the social condition of diversity among a specific population evident through various spatial formations, but particularly seen through the spatial lens of nation states and cities |
| migration | the movement of people from one place to another for a short period of time or permanently |
| temperate forest | located in the mid-latitude areas which means that they are found between the polar regions and the tropics |
| NAFTA | North American Free Trade Agreement, was a 1994 agreement among the United States, Canada, and Mexico |
| Globalization | the way the world has become more interconnected |
| Cultural Diffusion | the spread of one culture's practices, beliefs, and/or items, like food, music, or tools |
