Stars and Planets
| Term | Definition |

| 1. Rotate | To spin around an axis. |
| 2. Axis | An imaginary line that runs through center of the Earth from the North Pole to the South pole. |
| 3. Revolve | To travel in a closed path around the sun. |
| 4. Orbit | An object's path in space around another object. |
| 5. Moon | A small planet-like body that revolves around Earth rather than the sun. |
| 6. Phases | As the moon revolves around Earth, different amounts of its lit surface can be seen. |
| 7. Solar system | Is a group of objects in space that orbit a star in the center, plus the star itself. |
| 8. Planet | Is a large object that revolves around a star in a clear orbit |
| 9. Dwarf planet | Also revolves around a star, but its path is not clear of other objects. |
| 10. Comet | A ball of rock, ice and frozen gases. |
| 11. Star | A huge ball of superheated gases. |
| 12. Sun | A star that is at the center of our solar system. |
| 13. Constellation | A group of stars that form an imaginary picture in the sky. |
| 14. Galaxy | A huge system of gases, dust, and stars. |
| 15. Universe | Everything that exists in space. |
