IC1 Civilization

I can identify and explain the seven characteristics of civilization.

Stable Food Supply having enough food each year so every person in the area has enough food to survive Granaries- farmers used these to store wheat and corn to ensure starving would not be a problem next season/harvest rotation crops- growing or cycling different crops each year to keep soil fresh
Social Structure how bodies of governments and societies have separated their people into groups Upper class- the highest an individual could be in the social structure Middle class- the class in between the higher and lower classes, which consists of people who are at comfortable places with their money and education
Writing a way people in civilizations communicate using different symbols or letters that mean certain things alphabets- a set of letters, symbols, or characters that are used to spell out or come together to create words languages- groups of spoken and written words used to share thoughts and communicate
Technology techniques and tools used to keep things maintained and solve problems tools- objects used in certain ways to make a task easier or quicker ideas- thoughts people have had that can help to teach and make things easier.
