| Term | Definition |

| point | A location with no size or shape. Identified by a ordered pair or a point. |
| Line | Made up of points with no width or thickness |
| Line Segment | Measurable part of a line. It can also have an infinite amount of points |
| Ray | A line that extends indefinitely in one direction |
| Plane | A flat surface made of all points. Extends indefinitely in all directions |
| Collinear | Points that lie on the same line |
| Coplanar | Points on the same plane |
| Congruent Segments | Have the same length and are condidered equal |
| Segment Addition Postulate | The rule that allows the combination of 2 parts of a segments and the points must be colliniar |
| Distance formula | The formula to find the space between 2 points on a graph |
| Midpoint formula | The formula to find the exact spot between two points |
| Segment bisector | An intersection at the midpoint of a line of plane |
| Directed Line segment | A line with a minnimum of two points with an assosiated directin on a coordinate plane |
| Horizontal Component | the "run" of a directed line segment. |
| Vertical Component | The "rise" of a directed line segment |
| Perpendicular | Intersection of two lines or planes that meet at a 90 degree angle (right angle) |
| Perpendicular Bisector | intersection of a line at its midpoint forming a 90 degree angle |
| Parallel lines | lines that are the same distance appart and will never touch |
